• What is the weather like?

The Summer weather in the Mountain West is usually hot and dry. Temperatures can get cool in the evening, especially in the late Spring, but should only require a light jacket. Rain is also common this time of year, so it may be a good idea to instead bring a lightweight waterproof jacket. Temperatures mid-day can reach as high as 100-110 degrees Fahrenheit. Sunscreen is recommended and it would also be wise to pack sun-shading headwear.  The elevation is higher in this area, so water will be provided to avoid dehydration.

  • What should I bring?

    - Clothing for warm weather; sun-shading headwear, sunglasses, sunscreen

    - Lightweight waterproof jacket and long pants in case of rain or cooler evenings

    - A good camera (you may want something higher quality than a cellphone), binoculars will be provided

    - Swimsuit for pools and hot tubs at hotels and lodges

    - A comfortable pair of walking shoes

    - Spending money for activities and souvenirs and a credit card for larger purchases (hotels, etc.)

  • How much luggage can I bring?

Please try to limit the number of bags to 1-2 suitcases per traveler. Personal items and smaller bags can be brought with you in the vehicle as well as any items purchased along the way. A roof-top style luggage carrier or small cargo trailer will carry your larger bags that will be unloaded for you when we stop in the evenings.

  • How big are the tours?

We are dedicated to providing a personal and luxurious tour. Since our tours are exclusively private, you don't have to worry about being placed in the same vehicle with another party. Our vehicle will seat up to 15 passengers, but we recommend limiting your group size to 12 or fewer for maximum comfort.

  • What vehicle will we take?

We operate a Hummer H2 limousine. This is because, compared to other types of vehicles, a stretch SUV offers more room to move around and stretch your legs during the longer portions of our drive. Currently, we own a Hummer H2 limousine that can seat 15 people comfortably (you can see a picture of it on the homepage).

Also, please bear in mind that due to the style and rarity of our vehicle, we will receive a lot of attention from locals and other tourists. Please do not be offended by this. It is not uncommon to be approached or to have people stare or point at us while we are driving this vehicle. The window tint is very dark so you do not need to worry about onlookers invading your privacy. Also, our drivers will do their best to minimize the disturbance for our guests when they can.

  • Are children allowed on the tours?

Yes! We are able and glad to accommodate your children if you choose to bring them along. If you are unable to travel with an appropriate car seat, one can be provided upon request. Please be mindful that many, but not all of our planned activities will be of interest to children, and it is easy for children to get restless on the longer legs of our tour. Since we only operate private tours, though, you need not worry about bothering any other guests - there aren't any!

Children under the age of 12 are priced at 50% of the regular rate on all tours, and children under the age of 2 are free.

  • How much does it cost?

Our price structure starts with a flat-rate fee and a per-person fee is calculated in addition. Children 12 and up are priced at the full rate, under 12 are 50% off and children under 2 years of age are free. Please see the table below to understand better how this pricing structure works:

  • How do I pay for my reservation?

You will have two options for payment; a wire transfer from your bank to ours or by credit card. Instructions for payment will be sent to you via e-mail after we finalize your reservation along with our contract that will detail the total amount due. If you choose to use a credit card, an additional 3% of the total purchase price will be added due to fees associated with use of these services. Funds must be transferred to Destination West in US Dollars; if you are dealing with a different currency your bank should be able to convert your currency for you.

  • How much money should I bring?

Destination West Luxury Tours will provide transportation, snacks and drinks for the road, and park entrance fees. All other services rendered by hotels, services or other vendors will be billed to you directly at the time of service. Please consider this and plan your finances accordingly. Most of these vendors will accept major credit cards or travelers checks. There will also be a number of opportunities to shop for souvenirs, gifts, art, or other items; so bring along whatever you may want to spend!

  • When and where can we drink alcohol?

We will provide non-alcoholic beverages in the limousine for your enjoyment. We will also provide a small selection of alcoholic beverages for our guests of legal drinking age (21+) to purchase along the way. Destination West operates with a 'limited transportation liquor license'. This means that you, as our guest, will be allowed to consume alcoholic beverages that we serve to you in the limousine. But, unfortunately, according to the law, any alcoholic beverages that we serve to you must stay in the limousine at all times. This, though, does not apply to alcoholic beverages that you purchase on your own and then bring with you. You are free to purchase and drink alcoholic beverages purchased by you at any time (within the limits of local laws). There will be many opportunities to purchase alcohol along the tour.
