You will arrive at the edge of the Black Hills at the Rapid City Regional Airport, where you will be immediately greeted by our staff and chauffeured to the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel in historic Deadwood, SD. Here you will have a chance to settle in to your room and spend the evening relaxing or take a walking tour of the famous downtown Deadwood strip where you can dine, gamble or just meander and enjoy the historically rich old west town. Consider a visit to the Days of '76 Museum with Native American and Old West Artifacts including the original horse-drawn "Deadwood Stage." Reservations will be made at Jake's Fine Dining or Diamond Lil's, restaurants owned by actor Kevin Costner. Our limousine will be consistently available for your transportation needs to and from the hotel.
Our first full day will begin early by taking a short drive straight to Mount Rushmore National Monument where you will enjoy breakfast at Carver's Cafe at the foot of the monument. Time will then be allotted for you to tour the area before we head south on Iron Mountain Road, one of the top 10 scenic byways in the US. We will connect with the Needles Highway and drive through beautiful Custer State Park with roaming bison, elk, big horn sheep, mountain goats and more. After "threading" the Needles Eye Tunnel, we will continue to the Sylvan Lake Lodge for lunch with beautiful views of this gorgeous mountain lake. We will then continue to Jewel Cave National Monument for a guided scenic tour through a section of underground wilderness in the third longest cave system in the world. On our way back north, we will take time to tour Crazy Horse Memorial, a mountain carving that has been in progress since 1948 and will be the largest carving in existence when it is finished. From here we will make our way back to Deadwood for a relaxing evening and an all-you-can-eat Grand Buffet of crab legs and prime rib at the Silverado Casino. We will take a scenic loop stopping at overlooks for photos and arrive at world-famous Wall Drug in Wall, SD. (For those that chose the helicopter tour, we will come back to the helipad to pick you up when you are finished.)
